Works well. Easy to use.I worry whether the contact pins are robust as it felt like the SD card contacts were 'stuck' - perhaps it was because it's the first time using it. I worry a bit about reliability. But again, works with M1 Mac mini 2020.I am a content creator and I edit my Canon G7x MKII footage on an iPad Pro (newest version available as of this review). With this I was able to INSTANTLY transfer 2.5gig videos from my SD card to my iPad via the “files” app that comes pre-installed on iOS. Brilliant. Saved me tons of time. As I’d suspected, the people saying that this doesn’t work for iOS didn’t know what they were doing.Nice reader and works well so far. Only supports SD and microSD cards so not as versatile as it could be, but it's all I needed.Works as I shouldWorks half the time. Need to pull out and back in for monitor to sense video signalIt's not working on my MacBook Pro 2017.this is good to upload photos from an sd card to my mac. easy to use and durable because I've dropped it like three times and it hasn't broken. has a normal size sd card slot and a micro one.At last! A good value, reliable card reader for the iPad Pro without the price tag of the official option. Being similar in design and size to the official version, you wouldn’t know it wasn’t one. In use, data is transferred quickly from either SD card or Micro SD. It transferred over 100 RAW camera files quickly and without errors. When you plug the cable in, it does not create a pop up, to find the contents of the drive, you need to go into the files section. There you will find it listed on the left as a USB device. Select that and you can access the contents,Another bonus, is if you register the product, you extend the warranty from 12 months to 36months.To me, this is a no brainier. If you’re looking for a way to transfer files via USB-C, this Nonda is the one to go for.Got this for my new iPad Air gen 4 having used an Apple lightening cable on my previous iPad Pro.I need this to get video and film onto my iPad and into LumaFusion for editing.Works great- I can download directly from the files app, into photos or directly into LumaFusion itself which sees the card as a drive. No need to go for the Apple version.Deducted 1 star as the card reader bit is slightly twisted on the wire compared to the USB C socket so if you imagine it plugged into the iPad on a flat surface, the card reader doesn’t sit flat as it’s at a slight angle and the build quality doesn’t seem quite up to Apple level although you’d be hard pressed to tell it isn’t an Apple official product.I bought this dongle to use with a 2019 MacBookPro which doesn't have a built in SD reader. The objective was to take a full 200GB card, back it up using dd, and then restore it to a larger card and resize the partition using GParted Live to make use of the new capacity.I plugged this in and started backing up my card. However, the read speed wasn't going above 8MB/s despite the card and the reader being advertised as much faster. I needed to get this backup done so I let it run at the slow speed and didn't bother messing around. It took almost 6 hours to backup a full 200GB card. When it came time to restoring the backup I connected it up in the same way and started the restore process. The write speed was a shocking 400kb/s and would have taken days to complete. On a whim, I decided to try using a different port on my MacBook (Pro 2019) and this time the write speed was 4MB/s. I finally ran the restore command again (I was using the dd utility) and I set the blocksize to 16MB. This time the write speed for the restore was 80-90MB/s and I was much happier. This completed the full restore in a short space of time.In hindsight, I think the backup process would have been a lot quicker if I tried the other port and played around with the blocksize but I didn't have the time to mess around until later.I bought this for transferring photo files to my laptop whilst away from home. It is extremely slow, which isn't a major problem, but also doesn't copy files reliably, which is. I have repeatedly got missing files and a message telling me the files were corrupted or missing. This wasn't the case as they transferred perfectly using the hub that stays on my desk. I have repeated this several times with the same result. My advice is to avoid this and buy something better quality.I was fed up of having open and load my laptop every time I wanted to transfer photos from my camera SD card to my phone. This lead is brilliant. Plug it in, insert SD card and the files pop up on my Samsung S9+ to save or transfer! Is great for when out and about and I want to upload "nice" photos onto social media. Definitely my best buy of lockdown!
